Henry passed into his heavenly realm last evening as the sun set in the sky marking the remains of the day; and the sky filled with the darkness of night. We lay together as Henry takes his last breath and his heart beats for its final time. 💜

We lay together while the warmth of his body soothed my soul and after a very long time; Henry is now at 'peace' and absent of all pain.

What a treasured "Gift" we bestowed upon each other.

That is what Henry wanted. That is what Henry asked of me for his final wish; for us to "be together and alone". 💙

We shared this beautiful place and time for hours before I had to finally set his body free. We talked, we touched, we sang, and these were my final words to my 'Love', my 'Friend', my 'Bookend'...💝

We lost another great man today. Sidney Poitier and Henry Siler could have been brothers. They remind me of each other. Both kind and gentle men…. But both have a warrior side, a fighter when justified.

Dear Henry,

Although you are free of pain and still with us spiritually, I wish you were still with us in person.  YOU were such a positive asset to this family.  I am still in awe of the visits you made to my father when he was in Chester-Crozier hospital following an automobile accident.  Then the visits you made to my parents at their retirement community outside of Lancaster.  It is this showing of love from you & Henry that I am left with.  May my mind continue to remember this as I get older each day.

Mom & Dad gave this rolled-up print to Henry & Bernadette in '1980' the year we married. They briefly lived with us in our first home 'Caravel Farms' before retiring & moving to Daytona Beach, FL.

  A handful of original letters to Mom & Dad are tucked safely behind the frame & other newspaper articles from '60's or so -decades ago.  We had it framed, it hangs prominently displayed in our upstairs hallway just outside the door of our bedroom. The first thing we see in the morning and the last thing at night.
